The V-Star 1100 has a kit to inject cold air into the exhaust for emissions reasons. While Yamaha did use chromed, metal lines for the kit, it does give it something of a busy look. Several methods are used to remove this hardware. Boomer picked up the Baron's kit locally.
The kit consisted of two aluminum plugs, another plug for the manifold vacuum line, and an aluminum tool for hammering. After removing the tank to get the vacuum lines plugged, and pulling the lines off, we were able to get the 90-degree fittings out of the heads and begin pounding in the aluminum plugs. James' bike kept the 90-degree fittings and capped them at that point, which would have been easier. Also, freezing or refrigerating the plugs before installation would definitely make the job easier at that point.
The end result is much cleaner looking
