Boomer's 01 V-Star is a great example of a miltly modified classic. With touches like debadging, pipes and the grear Jardine forward controls, the bike really stands out as a classic custom.
The Maroon and Beige paint sets off the bike with a unique look, blending nicely with the chrome pipes and drag bars. Chrome side covers also add to the smooth look of the bike. A smoothed out master cylinder cover also adds to the clean chrome look. A billet oil filter access cover further cleans up the engine and adds a nice accent.
A custom set of dogbones were fabricated out of aluminum in otder to lower the rear end of the bike up to 2". Because of the three available settings, the bike can be set back to stock, or higher than stock, in order to suit two-up riding.
Future modifications will include a Maxair intake kit for more power and better reach on the forward controls. Taller risers with at least an inch of pullback need to be used to bring the bars back for more comfort. An oil filter relocation kit may be installed to reduce the filter change from a two hour job, requiring the removal of the front exhaust pipe. A revised resr market light and plate setup is being explored, with the intent of giving the rear fender a cleaner look.
